A History of Japan. By Hisho Saito. Translated by Elizabeth

Lee. (Keg= Paul and Co. 5s. net.)—Though most of us are acquainted with the history of Japan since the abolition of the Shogunate, very few have even a vague knowledge of the earlier history. An outline of it will be found in this volume, which extends from the reign of the first quasi-mythical Emperor Jimmu-Tenn to the end of the Russo-Japanese War. Some excellent illustrations, most of them reproductions from Japanese drawings, add to the interest of the story.
