New York to the 24th January. Mr. Tyler was at issue with the Senate, who were considering, and rejecting, his recent appointments to the Ministry. The Oregon question and Tariff had been talked of in Con- gress—the Tariff in such a way as to make it unlikely that any thing would be done in the matter this session. Mr. Clay's prospects for the Presidency were improving.
