The TVestminster Gazette of Monday contains a very informing_ article

on what is called. " The New Man, chester School " of Liberals. The three most prominent " names " of the movement are Professor Ramsay Muir, the historian, Mr. Maynard Keynes, and Mr. E. D. Simon, late Lord .Mayor of Manchester, and it is these. gentlemen who are said to be about to control the policy and conduct of the Nation. Put very briefly, one may say that the movement is an attempt to apply modern scientific methods of thought to the fundamental Liberal tenets in the same way that they have already and more naturally been. applied to Socialism and to. Conservatism. Hence the new school will stand for " Industrial Demo- cracy " as against Collectivism on one side, or unhampered- and uncontrolled' Individualism on the other.
