The Red Mirage. By I. A. R. Wylie. (Mills and

Boon. 6s.) —This story deals with the French Foreign Legion, into which most of the male characters enlist in various stages of despera- tion. The personages of the drama are unfortunately too like lay figures to possess vital interest, but the author contrives to suggest the atmosphere of the desert, and the scenes which pass there are well worth reading.
