REFERENCE BOOKS FOR 1936

We have received the following works of reference : Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage and Companionage (Dean, 75s.), and Burke's Peerage, Baronetage, the Privy Council and Knightage (Burke's Peerage, 105s.), invaluable books both of them, and as always models of elegant book- production as well as of systematic arrangement ; Kelly's Handbook to the Titled, Landed and Official Classes (Kelly's Directories, 40s.), in effect a summary of the information _to be found in Burke or Debrett and for some purposes almost,as useful ; The Post Office London Directory (Kelly's Directories, 55s.), and the Royal Blue Book, Court and ParliamentOry Guide (Kelly's Directories, 7s. 6d.), which provide respectively a complete directory of the County of London, and a select directory to the chief residential areas ; The Daily Mail Year Book (Associated Newspapers, ls.), which, for a very modest price, provides a summary of useful information about a very large number of subjects ; and Whitaker's Almanack (Os.), which provides all the information that one is likely to want about almost everything.
