The Army and Navy Estimates, as reduced by the peace,

show an aggregate saving of 17,558,9811. The Army Estimates have been re- duced from 34,998,6041. to 20,747,5741. - the Navy, from 19,876,6651. to 16,568,614/. Towards the Army Estimates, 20,164,1101. has already been voted ; leaving only 583,4641. to be made good. The sums granted to account of the Navy Estimates leave a balance of 811,2601. to be voted. In both departments, the reductions occur in the expenditure connected with actual warfare.
