The German Navy, after two months from peace, must not

exceed six battleships of the Deutschland' type, six light cruisers, twelve destroyers, and twelve torpedo-boats, with a total strength of fifteen thousand officers and men recruited on a voluntary basis. Germany must surrender all her interned warships and certain others now in German ports, as well as all submarines. She is forbidden to build or to purchase any ' U '- boats. to the Alliee. A most important clause provides that Germany shall not maintain any military or naval air forces, and must deliver up all her aircraft within three months.
