Sir: In a recent speech, Whitelaw was apparently trying to

intimidate antiMarketeers with the threat of the horrors of communism in this country if we elect to come out of Europe. It would appear, however, that he has overlooked the existence of the large communist parties of Germany, France and Italy, or the fact we are to be controlled by the existing socialist governments of the EEC although perhaps Mr Whitelaw, as a Tory Pink, serecsoammlesusneirsmevil in European socialism o

If, as we are led to believe, the future for the British would be difficult outside the EEC, perhaps this is what the country needs to bring us to our senses and to make our own future; we certainly have the men with the ability and foresight, after all, the world cannot close out fifty-two million customers. Was it not a strange occasion when Mr Heath took us into Europe with a majority of eight, but refused to stand Up against the nuions when he had a majority of thirty-three. Charles N.
