Sir: I sympathise with Leanda de Lisle's predicament in not being able easily to find suitable cricket trousers for her son at prep school (Country life, 26 April). She might be encouraged by my experience. In the Easter holidays last year, Rob Bailey, cap- tain of Northamptonshire, asked my 12- year-old son, whom he was coaching, where he bought his splendid cricket shirt. He (Bailey) had not been able to find such a shirt anywhere. Tom's answer: his prep school's second-hand uniform shop.
