Oxvortm Oct.8.-This day the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jones, Rector of Exeter Col- lege, having, according to ancient custom, laid down the office of chief magistrate of the University, was again nominated by the Chancellor, and the DOMDILion being ap- proved in convocation, resumed his situation, and appointed, as his pro Vice Chancel- lors, the Master of Pembroke, the Master of Balliol, the Master of the University, and the Principal of Brazennose.-Congregations will beholden for the purpose of granting graces, and conferring degrees, on the following days, in the ensuing term, viz. Stevenson, M.A.—The Rev. E. A. Smedley, M.A. of Trinity College, is also appointed Chaplain of that society, in place of the Rev. N. W. Gibson, M.A.
