The Conservatives of Lancashire must be sore put to it,

to inlist in their cause the einpry.bag barrister whom COBBETT christened Peter Wilkins. This gentleman, like LYNDHURST, PRAED, ABINGER. Twrss, and WYNFORD, came out as a Radical Reformer. Ile appeared in that character against Mr. COBBETT at Manchester and Oldham. Ile now vagabondizes, like GOLDSMIDT, to obtain notoriety, and thence a little business. Mr. Peter Wilkins was once entertained at a dinner by the Manchester Radicals ; when, after an oration by the said Peter, the Chairman said, " Well, Mr. Wilkins, if you are not a good Reformer and an honest man, you are a d.--d impostor." This said Peter Wilkins is the same individual who figured at Newark in support of Mr. Sergeant 1VILDE, against the Duke of NEWCASTLE. We wish the Standard joy of its new and admirable Tory orator.
