At the Oval

SIR,-1 thought of Quoodle at the Oval while get- ting my fortnightly short-back-and-sides. I trust he enjoyed the cricket, and 1 envy him the chance; but he really must learn to be more accurate. He did not 'watch England play South Africa.' He watched England play that oustanding team of ex- cellent fellows and superb cricketers; Van der Merwe's Eleven. They come from South Africa. They arc a very good club.

Perhaps they could be known as The Gentlemen; only, they never play the Players.
