Is it really the case that in this salvage-minded age

there is no use at all for old bottles—medicine bottles, lemon-squash bottles, wine bottles, any bottles? Judging by enquiries I have made in quarters that seemed likely, it seems not. My own collection is getting unmanageable and will have, I suppose, to go to the local dump. In my youth peripatetic gentlemen with tired voices used to collect rags, bones and bottles. There must have been some use for bottles then. jANUS.
