Mr. Ramsay, an English gentleman, and a party of guides,

successfully ascended Mont Blanc from Cormayen, on the Italian side. Attempts have been repeatedly made daring the last fifty years to accomplish this feat. Mr. Ramsay is the first to show that it is practicable. He started early on the 30th July, and returned on the morning of the 1st August. It is curious that on the 30th July Colonel Hardinge and Mr. Young of Belfast ascended the mountain by the ordinary route from Chamouni.
