The Moniteur of Friday, for the first time since the

coup d'etat, acknowledged that the Emperor Napoleon had been W. Ile left Vichy, it says, by the advice of his physicians, but has been better since his arrival at St. Cloud. The Times believes that the Emperor's malady is gout, aggravated by " distressing " circum- stances which sometimes accompany that disease.
