This book is, in the author's own words, a study

by a business man for business men. A good deal of space is (Continued on page 200.) devoted to the statistics and the particular problems of America, and is therefore of little practical value to the English business man. But the rest of the book should be of considerable use to him. The psychology of the working man is discussed at some length, and there are many valuable practical suggestions for the organization of a large business. Those sections in which the author speaks of the major theoretical problems arising from the capitalistic system, though not startlingly original, are nevertheless perfectly sound—from the reasonable capitalist's point of view.
