The decisions of the Imperial Conference have alread had the

happiest results in South Africa. Mr. Tielm Roos, the acting Prime Minister and Minister of Justii. has declared that he and his friends are " absolute' satisfied," " There is," he said, " no longer a consti tutional question, and upon that basis we shall now able to work for the economic development of Sout Africa. There is no question of secession in South Afri no question of Republicanism. We fully accept what • freely given by the British Government. The Britis Government by giving us this has made 'the position a the British Empire much stronger." Mr. Roos went o to say that he had not spoken in this spirit before an that he would not have spoken so now, had it not bee for the Imperial Conference. Referring to the 11 question, he said,. " We have got the reality ; and DO that we, have got it the symbol is an unimportant thing We must await the return of General Heitzog before W decide what to do."
