Christmas tart

Sir: Will you please allow me to crrect an error in Mr Stamp's otherwise amirable article (`The ladies of King's COSS', 27 November)? He writes about 'till sort of revolting sex warehouses to be bund in Hamburg or Amsterdam'. Amsteilam has no legalised brothels, nor 'sex waraouses'.

It may interest him that the CiqCouncil of Rotterdam refused to vote for plan to concentrate prostitution aboard anumber of ships in the port, as a solution t(the bit- ter complaints repeatedly voiced by the non-prostitute residents of two qurters of the town now practically taken ovr by the Rotterdam prostitutes. In Amsteram too, there have lately been many comptints by 'ordinary' residents owing to the fct that, nowadays, serious crime and te drug market have, more or less, taken pssession of the one-time prostitutes' quarte It may also interest Mr Stamp, ad more so the vicar of the local parish churh, that, since the end of the last centry, the Amsterdam Salvation Army has tiven a Christmas dinner to all Amsterdm pro- stitutes — no men allowed! Thisannual Christmas dinner has always beena huge success. Perhaps the vicar coule get in touch with the Amsterdam Salvatio Army, Damstraat 15, Amsterdam.
