Leap Year Competition

THE Editor offers a prize of five guineas for the best Leap Year proposal of marriage, not exceeding 250 words, in the form of a letter. Both men and women may compete, but the letter should, of course, be written as from a woman to a man.

We look' for brevity and subtlety in the letters subinitted, which must be designed not so much with an eye to literary grace as to secure the object desired. If the entries justify it, we shall publish a selection of the letters submitted. The Competition closes on Friday, March 2nd. Entries should be marked " Competition " on the left-hand corner of the envelope, and no competitor can have his work returned.
