The Church Assembly opened its Spring Session on Monday, which

happened to be the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Archbishop of Canterbury's intro- duction to his office. The expressions of personal admiration, affection and confidence were strong and genuine. We would associate ourselves with them and we are truly thankful for the man who holds Dr. Davidson's office through these anxious times. We most earnestly wish him a crowning success in his present labours. He commended to the Assembly the Revised Measure as it left Lambeth since Christmas for discussion in the three constituent Houses. The first need was for the separate " general approval " of each House without which the Measure can go forward no further. * *
