SIR,—.The Gamekeeper and Countryside for May, 1948, contained the following

item: `.` Hounds have been rather hard on foxes in my locality, and their last exploit was to kill my only vixen, on which I was depending for a litter of cubs. . . . I asked for a litter of cubs to be brought, intending to feed and rear them. They duly arrived, five clean, healthy little beggars . . . cubs reached maturity."
