Les Comp'eres du Roy. Par Charles Deslys. (Hachette.)—Readers of Quentin

Durward will be glad of the opportunity offered them by this story of renewing their acquaintance with Louie XL The scenes in Switzerland, which comprise the battle of Morat, are spirited in the extreme, and the whole course of the tale carries us on with unflagging interest. The book must be read for its animation, not for its other qualities.
