Recollections of Mrs. Anderson's School. By Jane Winnard Hooper.. Second edition. (Virtue and Co.)—This is a simple and straightfor- ward narrative of life at an old-fashioned boarding school for girls, the author of which is bold enough to express openly her regret at seeing this class of institutions in a fair way to be swallowed up by ladies' colleges,. and other new and improved modes of female education. The story is intended for young girls only, for whom it appears to be thoroughly suited, and the authoress has, with much judgment, confined her re- marks on education in general, some of which are highly judicious,. exclusively to the preface.
