The first two months of 1927 showed a marked decrease

in the number of cars licensed in Massachusetts, though this may have been partly due to the fact that there is a rNhiction in the insurance premium if the car is not licensed during the first quarter of the year and also to the fact that the personal property tax takes account only of property owned on April 1st. There was also a considerable slump in the "used car" market. Presumably people did not think the cheap second. hand car was worth paying a premium on.
