Slit,—I am most unhappy that dear Mr. Strix (whom I

usually mad with great interest, though he does write about things like the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Territorial Army, which are not what one is used to) has stated that Mr. Emlyn Williams wrote The Winslow Boy.

At the matinee I saw, Mr. Williams acted in the play, but that isn't the same thing at

all, is it ? "

Mr. Williams is very clever (perhaps a.littlo bit too clever for poor me), but he does rather harp on Dickens, and demons, and people one can only feel would be not quite nice to know I hope you don't mind my writing to you like this, but I did so enjoy The Winslow Boy. At the end, J admit, there was a tiny tear in my eye !—Yours very sincerely,

MR. R %WIGAN'S AUNT I DNA

[Strix writes: I apologise humbly to Mr. Rattigan, and all his tints, for my idiotic slip.—Editor, Spectator.]
