TH E INTERESTING correspondence in The Times about 'rings' has now

finished, but I see that other newspapers have taken up this disquieting subject. It is in everybody's interest that they should be broken; and no one would be more pleased to see this happen than the auctioneers. and the great majority of dealers. A letter in our correspondence columns prompts me to make it perfectly clear that when I wrote about the antique dealers' rings' three weeks ago I was in no sense criticising any of the auctioneers concerned.
