VAE VICTIS? -

SIR,—The crimes of the German war loaders have been proved, trial has followed and sentences fixed. But these leaders are-being punished as a consequence of having lost the war. If they had won there would have been no trial. So it seems that if any nation can win a war it may rest on its laurels and enjoy the spoils while its crimes are discreetly ignored by the world at large.—Yours faithfully, E. C. ASHMORE. St. Lawrence: Hampden Road, Malvern.
