THE Queen held the first drawiogroom for the season, at St. James's Palace, on Thursday. Her Majesty and Panes Albert arrived from Buckingham Palace, in the usual order, at two o'clock. The Dutchess of Kent, the Duke of Cambridge, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and Prince Ernest of Hem- Plulippathal, joined the party in the Royal closet. Before the dra , the

Qaeen received a deputation from Christ's Hospital, with the boys the Royal Mathematical. The presentations in the Diplomatic circle were more numerous than. usual, principally of ladies connected with the families of the Diplomatic gentlemen. The drawingroom was not very fully attended; but the dresses of the ladies were as splendid as ever. After the ceremony, the Queen and Prince Albert returned to Buckingham Palace.

Her Majesty gave a dinner-party at Buckingham Palace in the eveniug. Among the guests were, the Dutchess of Kent, the Bishop of London and Mrs. Blomfield, the Doke of Wellington, Lord and Lady John Russell, Viscount and Frances Sandon. The Queen has received visits during the week, from the Queen Dowager, the Dutchess of Kent, the Duke of Cambridge, and the Hereditary Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Her Majesty visited the Princess Sophia on Monday. Prince Albert was visited by Prince Ernest of Hesse-Philippsthal, on Saturday. Many visits have passed between the other members of flue Royal Family.

Prince Albert went to see Mr. Cubitt's manufactory, near Vauxhall, yesterday fterwards presided at a meeting of the Fine Arts Commission.

TThe Teen and Prince Albert "assisted" at the Italian Opera on Saturday and Tuesday• at the French play on Monday; at the performance of David's Desert, at the °Penthouse, last night.

The Dowager Grand Dutchess of Baden went on. Monday to see the Duke of Devonshire's seat at Chiswick, and partook of a dejeuner provided by the noble host. On Tuesday, her Royal Highness left town for Brighton. The Dutchess of Gloucester still suffers from indisposition, with a troublesome cough. Her Royal Highness has frequently been visited by the Grand Datchess of Baden, the Dake of Cambridge, the Queen Dowager, and the Dutchess of Kent. Her Royal Highness was visited by Queen Victoria yesterday.
