Blood money

Sir: We read that it is impossible to find the £90,000 to divert death-dealing trucks from the factory at Flixton from road to rail.

Yet, in this quiet backwater, more than this sum has been spent on the headquarters of the 'new' Council. In a land of beautiful stone, it is blood-red brick and known locally as `Dracula's Palace'. There is a sauna and numerous outbuildings, presumably for spare vampires! Is there not something wrong?
