. The balance sheet of the Agreement is as follows.

The Free State pays to Great Britain £150,000 down, and £250,000 a year for 60 years, less a sum of £900,000 due from Great Britain. The Free State pays a sum estimated at £1;000,000 for increased compensation, and the British Government. surrenders wholly the speculative credit in the form of the promised Free State quota to the National Debt and War PenSions. Finally, the British Government agrees to make a final lump sum payment of £1,200,000 to Northern Ireland in respect of the special constabulary necessitated by the vague nature of the 1921 agreement. The only matter now in doubt is whether Mr. Cosgrave Will be able to prevail over his Republican and Labour opponents:-- Everyone in this country sincerely wishes him Welt, and we all know froth his record that he will face his great difficulties with courage. - *
