[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—A not impossible case
may help us ; our 'Lord and His Mother (let us suppose) " went down from JeruSalem to jericho and fell among thieves." Would our Lord have stood quietly by, while they " stripped her of her' raiment, and wounded her, nnd departed, leaving her hilf dead " ? It would be interesting to have your leaders' Various sug- gestions as to His probable action ; but all *ill :be agreed that He would do something and it' would not be in self- defence only.—I ain, Sir, &c., R. E. HOLMES. Bywell Viciticigic Northumberland.
