Hodgson A distinguished but absent-minded gentleman has just addressed a chapel-bazaar under the impression that he was assisting at a function in aid of the Field Sports Protection Society. Competitors are invited to move a vote of thanks to him in which reference must be made to the contents of his speech, without, however, making him aware of his error. Usual prizes. Limit 200 words.

Entries must be addressed to the Spectator, 99 Gower Street, London, W.C.1, in envelopes marked " Competition " and must be received not later than December 22nd. Results will be published in the Spectator of January 2nd.
