On the 30th, at Civita Vecchia, after an illness of a few hours, Commander Sir ThomasiGibson Carmichael, of Castlecraig and Skirling, Bart., R.N. ; in his 38th year.

On the 3d January, in Upper Berkeley Street, Portman Square, Lieutenant- Colonel Henry Augustus Jackson, formerly of the Eightieth Regiment, and late of the Fifth Dragoon Guards ; in his 58th year. On the 3d, Captain William Cuppage, R.N.. of Greenwich Hospital, second son of the late Lieutenant-General Cuppage, R.A. On the 6th, at Avisford, near Arundel, the Lady Elizabeth Louisa Reynell, widow of the late Lieutenant-General Sir Thomas Reynell, Bart., K.C.B. ; in her 73d year. On the 7th, at the Vicarage, Sileby, the Rev. John Dudley, for nearly sixty-two years Vicar of Sileby and of Humberston, Leicestershire, senior Magistrate of the county; in his 94th year.

On the 8th, at Kenn, Devon, the Rev. Henry Ley, upwards of fifty years Rector of that pariah; in his 74th year. On the 8th, at Torquay, Margaret Matilda, eldest daughter of the late Sir Albert Pell, (one of his late Majesty's Justices of the Court of Review,) and the Hon. Lady Pell; in her 39th year.
