The address for signing which Marshal Narvaez arrested S. Rios

Roses and deported his colleagues has reached England. It is most respectfully worded, and the pith of it is contained in the following sentence :—" The power which the Cortes conjointly with the Sovereign possess to make the laws cannot be exercised exclusively by your Majesty's Government without the constitu- tion of the monarchy ceasing to exist." The Deputies denounce somewhat more strongly the illegal violation of the Chamber by the Captain-General, intimate their belief that the Cortes will not be summoned at the regular time, and appeal for remedy to the "high wisdom of the Throne," which doomed them in reply to imprisonment and exile.
