We believe we can state that the disagreeable revelations contained

in the re- port of the Committee appointed to consider the petition of the Smith-eastern Railway have rendered it imperative on Captain Bolder° and Mr. Bonham to re- sign the offices held by them in the Board of Ordnance.—Times.

A meeting in aid of the sufferers by the Quebec fire was held at Manchester on Thursday. The sum of 1,000/. was collected before the meeting; the gentlemen present subscribed 1,7001.; and a committee was appointed to carry on the col- lection.
