THE Queen has made three appearances in state during the

past seven days.

Her presence on Wednesday at the ball and supper given by the City of London to celebrate the success of the Great Exhibition of Industry, (described at length in our Metropolitan columns,) was preceded by a state visit to Her Majesty's Theatre on Saturday, and followed by a similar ceremony at the Covent Garden Opera on Thursday. On Monday, the Queen gave a concert at Buckingham Palace : upwards of four hundred guests were invited.

At a Court held by her Majesty on Monday afternoon, Count Walew- ski, Ambassador Extraordinary from the French Republic, had an audi- ence to present his credentials. The Earl of Westmoreland was presented, on his return from his mission at the Court of Berlin. On the same day, Lord John Russell and the Duke of Wellington had audiences.
