A word of commendation is due to the British Research

Association for the Woollen and Worsted Industries with headquarters at Headingley, Leeds. As from July 1st a new scheme of financial support was introduced, providing an equitable distribution of expenses throughout the industry. In future every firm handling wool from the raw material to the finished product will be making a direct payment to the Research Association. Those who are interested should remember that the Empire Marketing Board makes a contribu- tion each year, and is also financing an Empire Survey of the conditions of wool production. An attractive little publica- tion Scientific Aid for the Wool Industries, by S. G. Barker and Arnold Frobisher, explains the work of this Association, and might be read with advantage by the ordinary layman.
