Meanwhile the Kiukiang Concession has been handed over to the

Chinese under an arrangement signed by Mr. O'Malley and the Nationalist representatives. The Concession thus reverts to the status of an ordinary Treaty Port; but as it was a small one its return to the Chinese signifies little material loss. It is satisfactory that the Nationalists agreed to pay about /5,000 as compensation for the losses incurred by British residents through looting, though the Times correspondent says that this sum does not cover the damage. * *
