But the road is enough to frighten The girl that has got to hike.

There are folks too old for swopping Their horses while crossing stream, And how will they do their shopping From Ony or Clun or Tcme?

Yet still there are sorrows to lighten And the last will be even worse. When those that travel to Knighton Will have 'o travel by hearse.
