The Court of Exchequer yesterday granted a rule for a

new trial in the case of Swynfen versus Chelmsford. The Lord Chief Baron said the Court were of opinion that there ought to be a rule to show cause on the question, as to what is the liability of an advocate who undertakes a cause. It was laid down broadly at the trial by himself, that, provided an advocate acted bona fide, he was entitled to a verdict if complaint were made against him. The rule would be granted on that point.
