It is true that it merely exemplifies the rules of arithmetic, and that people learn those rules in order to be able to work the examples. But there is often a great difference between knowing the rule and working the example, and Dr. /3rowne's book will enable many to reduce this difference to a medium, at a time when it would otherwise interfere with their advancement.
