Hints on Billiards. By J. P. Buchanan. (G. Bell and

Sons.)— This seems to us a very sensible and clearly expressed guide to billiards and the theory of the game. It is illustrated with many diagrams, and the advice given, from the taking of aim to the more difficult strokes and the recovery of position, is always of the soundest and most reasonable kind. It is obviously written by a gentleman, and we can recommend it to those who wish to become acquainted with the game and the proper way to play it.
