On your Marx

Sir: Your issue of 14 September carried a letter from an A.L. Rowse wondering why Graham Greene et al had been so silly about politics.

Presumably this isn't the same A.L. Rowse whose article, 'The Significance of Marx' published in the Plebs magazine of March 1933 claimed that 'Marxism, in the hands of Marx and Engels, is the most fruit- ful conception both for the study of society and for action in it, which we have yet achieved.'
