The Bishop of Natal's clergy have turned against him, and

"protest most solemnly" against the position,taken in his book and against his determination to retain the office of bishop. • They have not, apparently, read the book, as they only speak on hearsay ; but English bishops have protested without reading it, and the Natal clergy follow that excellent example. The pleasure, too, of being more orthodox than your own bishop is probably very keen.
