Annuities for the Blind. By the late Edmund C. Johnson.

(Simpkin, Marshall, and Co.)—The late. Mr. Johnson took great pains in preparing this volume, containing an account of the charities instituted for the relief of the blind, and a list of persons relieved, the latter being useful to prevent overlapping of help. The total amount of help given by various societies and trusts amounts to something more than £20,000; but what is that among so many ? Mr. Johnson, who had studied the subject, was of opinion that the blind cannot compete with those who have their sight without some help.
