A Source of Seed In approaching this subject the other

day Ia.sked whether (as in Geneva) you could buy the seeds of wild flowers in England. Such purchase has enabled the Swiss schools to populate their gardens without robbing the country, and much good to the cause has resulted. It is welcome news (especially to school-masters) that we are now following the Swiss lead. Sir Maurice Anderson, the arch-priest of flower preservation, has with other botanists been busy ; and this is the recent history of the campaign. The technical committee of the Wild Plant Conservation Board at a meeting last November (and another meeting in February) approved a resolution in support of a Plant Nursery started by W. C Garnett, 6 The Strand, Derby. Later Sir Maurice paid a personal visit to Mr. Garnett's nursery. He has now the seeds of 60 sorts of British wild flowers, and he can now supply the seeds on application. It is hoped that school- teachers especially will profit by the opportunity.
