BONA-VENTURE. By II. C. Bailey. (Methuen. 7s. 6d. net.)—Mr. H.

C. Bailey writes of the spacious days of Elizabeth. His story is chiefly concerned with plots against the Queen's life and with the romantic exploits of Bona- Venture, a gentleman adventurer. Like many of Mr. Bailey's historical novels, this one is elaborately worked out, but the persevering reader will be rewarded.
