PRUNE AND SPRAY

It may be labouring the point to remind anyone with one or two fruit trees that not only should they be pruned but that tar-oil wash is needed to protect plums, currants, pears, apples and gooseberries. It is not one of the pleasantest tasks in the garden in winter but it is one of the most repaying if a mild, still day is chosen for the work.
