Formosans

Slit,—In all the discussion about Formosa I have seen no mention of the Formosan people. In the tables of the area and population of the world in Whitaker's Almanack for 1948 the population is given as 5,400,000, and the island is listed as part of the Japanese empire. In the Almanack for 1953 Formosa is not mentioned in these tables. Do the interests and desires of these people -count for nothing ? Are they represented at U.N.O. and elsewhere ?—Yours faithfully, R. E. TEMPEST. Stanningfield Rectory, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.
