Gems in a Granite Setting. By William Crossing. (Western Morning

News, Plymouth.)—The sub-title of this book, is " Beauties of the Low Land of Dartmoor." This marks it as dealing with a subject which is a speciality of Mr. Crossing. The scenery, the geological formation, the growth of the trees, the flow of the streams—in fact, the whole country—are described with the minuteness of knowledge which makes the expert. And this description, so particular and so exact, is illustrated by a number of excellent photographs, both full-page and in the text.
